"Mr. Plinkett's Halloween Spooktacular!" or "Plinkett's Halloween Special" is the first episode of the second season of the 789 Films animated web series, Mr. Plinkett: The Animated Series, and 7th episode of the series overall. It aired on October 30, 2012 on Blip and was the first episode of the animated series to be released by RedLetterMedia.[1][2] The episode was animated and edited by Shaun McKinnon, combining preexisting voice-work by Mike Stoklasa and RedLetterMedia productions with other sources to create a unified story.[3]

In a special Halloween-themed episode,[1] Mr. Plinkett narrates a spooky story about a little boy who goes trick-or-treating and accidentally awakens a supernatural creature.

On Endor, an ewok punts Darth Vader's head through space towards Earth. The head lands on a scarecrow in a field and the scarecrow comes alive. Meanwhile, a boy sneaks out of his bedroom to trick-or-treat on Halloween and stumbles across the living scarecrow. In examining it, the boy accidentally frees the scarecrow creature and is pursued to Mr. Plinkett's house.

The scarecrow and Mr. Plinkett converse until George Lucas interrupts. Mr. Plinkett dispatches George and watches Honey Boo Boo's Halloween Special with the scarecrow.

This episode has a title discrepancy and is listed as "Mr. Plinkett's Halloween Spooktacular!" on the RedLetterMedia site,[1][2] but is titled "Plinkett's Halloween Special" in the opening credits. Many visual references to RedLetterMedia productions are scattered throughout the short. George Lucas previously appeared in the season one Christmas episode, "Christmas with Mr. Plinkett".

Sources for the audio used in the episode were captured from various RedLetterMedia productions and James Earl Jones's reading of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven".

The episode first aired October 30, 2012 on Blip,[1][2] and was added to YouTube on October 31, 2012.[4]
